    Report..
Turkish interventions inside Iraqi territory, especially in the Kurdistan Region, are one of the most prominent issues that arouse public opinion and are still ongoing.
Under the pretext of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, Turkey has established military bases in various areas within the region, and expanded the scope of its military operations to a depth of tens of kilometers inside the borders in a move that observers see as a challenge to Iraq's sovereignty and national unity, while they pointed out that the state of political division and weak coordination between Baghdad and Erbil has allowed Ankara the opportunity to move more freely.
Recently, there have been major calls for the government to work with international partners to stop violations and rebuild the principle of sovereignty, which is considered the cornerstone of relations between countries.
Speaking about this file, a member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Ali Al-Bandawi, criticized the performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in dealing with the file of the Turkish incursion into northern Iraq, while indicating that Ankara seeks to establish permanent military bases in various areas.
Committee member Ali Al-Bandawi said in a statement that “Turkey is exploiting the regional escalation and the Iraqi forces’ preoccupation with securing the border with Syria to expand its influence inside Iraqi territory,” indicating that “Turkey has begun targeting citizens in the villages of Kurdistan, which has led to the daily deaths of martyrs, revealing that its operations are not only against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, but also aim to achieve other goals and objectives.”
He added that “the presence of Turkish military bases and the entry of hundreds of soldiers and vehicles into Iraq indicate Turkey’s intentions to occupy parts of the country, especially since Ankara has had ambitions in Iraq for more than 40 years,” explaining that “there is no agreement between Iraq and Turkey that allows Ankara to penetrate or launch strikes inside Iraqi territory.”
He criticizes “the weak role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in confronting this incursion,” calling for “taking serious steps by activating diplomatic channels and addressing international and regional parties.”
In addition, MP Yasser Iskandar stressed that the Turkish incursion is a source of Iraqi concern with the significant increase in the establishment of barracks.
“The penetration of tens of kilometers deep into Iraqi territory raises a big question mark and indicates that Ankara’s policy carries an agenda that harms the brotherly relations between the two countries,” Iskandar said in an interview with Al-Maalouma.
“There is no justification for the penetration of Turkish forces and the establishment of more military barracks deep into Iraqi territory,” he added, stressing that the solution to security concerns begins through cooperation with Baghdad and the pursuit of resolving all problems, stressing that Iraq relies on a constitution whose most important provisions are preventing any threat to the capitals of neighboring countries in terms of security or any other action.”
He pointed out that “the penetration and establishment of more barracks will not end Turkey’s security problem without real cooperation and coordination with Baghdad, stressing that building strong relations that rely on transparency in dealing with all files based on a fair and just principle is what guarantees stability in the end.”
It is worth noting that Turkish forces penetrate more than 100 km deep into Iraqi territory and have more than 80 military barracks, including bases that include airstrips. End 25 min[/size]
