    [rtl]The activities of the unified national conference of dental colleges in Iraq were launched in Baghdad today, Friday, under the slogan "Investment in scientific research and its role in economic development", in a "unique" opportunity to enhance communication between researchers locally and internationally, drive the wheel of economic development and enhance Iraq's position regionally and globally.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The President of the Deans of the Colleges of Dentistry in Iraq and the Dean of the College of Dentistry/University of Baghdad, Dr. Raghad Al-Hashemi, said in his speech during the conference held in the halls of the celebration square, “Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Naeem Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the Committee of Deans of Governmental and Private Colleges of Dentistry in Iraq, the Second Unified National International Conference of Colleges of Dentistry is being held, bringing together an elite group of academics and researchers from all over the country under the slogan: (Investment in Scientific Research and its Role in Economic Development).” [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Al-Hashemi added, "From the heart of Baghdad, the cradle of civilizations and the land of the Sumerians and Babylonians, a scientific and humanitarian message is launched, which is evident in this conference that reflects the spirit of Arab solidarity and brings together Iraq with the resistant Gaza and the jihadist Lebanon, in facing current challenges and strengthening joint steadfastness for a bright future for our nation." He stressed that "this scientific event reflects Iraq's connection to its ancient civilizational heritage and the spirit of steadfastness that unites it with the peoples of our nation, in the belief that science and knowledge are the way to build a bright future for future generations." [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He added, "This scientific conference is a unique opportunity to enhance communication between researchers, locally and internationally, as it includes an elite group of lecturers and experts from countries such as Britain, the United States, India, Iran, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan, Syria, the Emirates and others, in addition to guests of honor from Lebanon and steadfast Palestine," indicating that "the conference aims to review the latest innovations in dentistry and their local application to improve the quality of education and scientific research, which contributes to building a strong academic community that keeps pace with global challenges." [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He explained that "the conference focuses on the importance of the knowledge economy as a fundamental pillar of sustainable growth, inspired by the Education Strategy 2022-2031, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, to develop education and scientific research in line with the goals of sustainable development, and highlights the role of scientific research in improving health services and raising the efficiency of specialists, which contributes to driving the wheel of economic development and enhancing Iraq's position regionally and globally." [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He pointed out that "holding this conference in Iraq reflects the country's commitment to quality standards and academic excellence, with a focus on promoting innovation and scientific research as a key driver of economic and social development. It highlights Iraq's ongoing efforts to improve the level of education in the dental sector and to benefit from local capabilities to produce research that serves the community and meets its needs." [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Al-Hashemi stressed that “the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad is a model of academic excellence, as it has achieved exceptional accomplishments in international rankings. Its ranking in the Shanghai World Ranking (201-300) reflects its commitment to quality and innovation standards. Its registration of a qualitative achievement by obtaining full national accreditation, as well as its membership in the European Dental Association (ADEE), enhances its international standing, while its scientific journal in the Scopus database highlights its pioneering role in producing scientific research that serves society.” [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He pointed out that "the college has witnessed a remarkable development in terms of infrastructure, from equipping smart halls to establishing sports fields and modern monitoring systems, to provide an advanced educational environment that contributes to achieving students' aspirations." [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He continued, "Over the past two years, the Ministry of Higher Education, under the leadership of the respected Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, has emerged as a beacon of development and excellence through initiatives such as launching the (Study in Iraq) program and introducing educational systems compatible with the Bologna process, in addition to presenting awards for creativity and innovation. These efforts were reflected in Iraq topping the 37th place globally in the British Times ranking and the appearance of 23 Iraqi universities in the QS ranking, leading to the historic achievement of the College of Dentistry at the University of Baghdad entering the Shanghai World Ranking."  [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Al-Hashemi expressed his "thanks to the Minister of Education, Naeem Al-Aboudi, for his continuous support to academic institutions, and his tireless efforts in leading the development and advancement of the higher education sector in Iraq, and enhancing the prosperity of our beloved Iraq," stressing "the commitment to continue working to achieve more progress and prosperity for our beloved Iraq." [/rtl]
