Six leaders of Sunni political blocs and heads of the Council issued[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]During the previous sessions, a long message was sent regarding the talk about the arrival of “change” in Iraq, as well as the type of reactions and warnings of the political forces and how they dealt with these indicators, where it identified 7 necessary and other dangerous points in dealing with the data.

The statement was titled “Presidents’ Statement” and was signed by:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Al-Mashhadani, Chairman of the Council[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Current, Osama Al-Nujaifi, Chairman of the Council[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The former, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The divorced[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Former Prime Minister, Iyad al-Samarrai, Chairman of the Council[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Former, Salim al-Jabouri, Chairman of the Council[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Former, Hajim Al-Hasani, former President of the National Assembly.

The statement, which I have seen, stated:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]News, that "the recent events and the Syrian revolution that toppled the regime of Bashar al-Assad in a record time had major repercussions that did not come together in our region as they did during these days, and pushed several countries to conduct a broad review, whether the United States and its allies or the countries of the region."

He added that "Iraq, which is at the heart of events, is exposed to very great challenges and a push from multiple parties to bring about change in it that serves their interests and may not be in the interest of the Iraqi people," noting that "our keenness on[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Its people, security and future prosperity call upon us to be frank with our people, the political forces and the Iraqi government about what should be done.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]And the Iraqis do it.”

    The “Points of Frankness” stated:

First: We sense that there are forces under the title of change and its necessity that are pushing towards incidents that result in serious security repercussions that cause more division among the people and weakness for Iraq and its government. This is something that no one should underestimate, especially the forces that have been in a position of rule and influence since 2003, although change and reform are also what we call for.

Second: We call for a frank and serious national dialogue to determine the aspects of the defect that represent widespread public discontent and anger. We are not revealing a secret by saying that these aspects are no longer hidden from anyone and have been diagnosed several times, but there is no political will to address them.
Third: The undersigned have had a major contribution to Iraqi politics since 2003, cooperating with everyone in seeking to bring about the desired reform and demanding a comprehensive review that addresses the injustice that has befallen this society. This demand stems from a national dimension that says that stability cannot be achieved in any country as long as its sons or some of its sons feel that injustice has befallen them and their rights have been denied. And ignoring their demands.
Fourth: We seek to build a strong, independent Iraq, far from any external influence or dependency, and at the same time we seek to have relations[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]With all its neighbors, a strong brotherly relationship is achieved through political understanding and economic integration that serves the interests of all, and this is reinforced by a relationship of understanding, respect and common interests with international powers with their various orientations.

Fifth: There has been much talk in our Iraqi society about the rampant corruption, injustices in prisons, oppression in state administrations and legislative defects that contradict the principles of the constitution. All of this requires treatment, and we see in the national dialogue that we have called for a means to address all of these complaints.

Sixth: The political conditions that Iraqis have experienced have resulted in weakness in the democratic process and electoral results, which has resulted in Iraqis’ reluctance to exercise their electoral right. We affirm that the path[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Peaceful and national dialogue, no matter how difficult it may seem, is our only path to reform, and we should not interact with any extremist calls.

Seventh: Frightening Iraqis with terrorism and warning them that it is coming to them, and directing accusations east and west of those behind it and those seeking to unite its ranks, is a miserable attempt to obstruct any democratic reform process, and we say that terrorism in[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]He has completely lost his popular support, and any move against him will be by external forces exploiting the internal dysfunction he is going through.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]And rushing to fill the gap will lead to the failure of all those seeking the return of terrorism.

The statement concluded: "We hope that our statement and demands will be understood and responded to by everyone to achieve the interest of[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]And a people towards whom we all feel a responsibility.”
