Minister of Electricity Ziad Ali Fadhil explained today, Saturday, the mechanism for paying taxes via electronic cards, while indicating that the various regions of Iraq in all governorates will enter the electronic transformation successively.
The Minister of Electricity said, "The ministry signed a contract with Switch, one of the companies accredited by the Central Bank of Iraq, and today all citizens in Baghdad Governorate can pay via electronic cards, and there is no need to hand over the collection amounts to meter readers."
He added, "This application will be announced in all Iraqi governorates, and thus the citizen will be able to pay the electronic bill from his home or workplace, and a message will be sent to him via WhatsApp that the bill has been paid."
He continued, "Within the smart transformation projects, meters will be read electronically instead of readers coming to homes and even electronic payment," indicating that "the first stage of implementing the transformation is obligating investment complexes to pay bills electronically, followed by the smart transformation project, and also the entry of the various regions of Iraq in all governorates into the transformation successively."
