Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Ali Al-Bandawi, confirmed today, Saturday, that Iraq is enhancing its defense capabilities with advanced systems and modern aircraft.
Al-Bandawi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency that "Iraq possesses advanced weapons and is committed to its agreements with the international coalition, pointing out that there are contracts to supply modern weapons, including advanced air defense systems, in addition to new aircraft and military equipment."
He pointed out that "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is providing strong support to the armed forces with the aim of equipping them with missile systems and a modern aircraft fleet, to enhance their defensive capabilities."
He added that "the security situation in Iraq is largely stable, especially on the borders, stressing that the authorities will not allow terrorism to return to Iraqi territory again." End 25/S
