An informed source revealed, today, Saturday (December 14, 2024), the Kurdistan Regional Government’s intention to pay the salaries of employees in the region for the months of October and November in one payment.
The source told Baghdad Today, "Baghdad sent 430 billion dinars, and is only waiting for 761 billion dinars, allocated for November salaries, and within a day or two the amount will reach the regional government's account."
He added, "Once the amount arrives, the salaries of the 10th and 11th months will be distributed in one payment, and within the next two days the distribution schedule will be issued."
This is happening while the employees of the departments of Sulaymaniyah Governorate continue their strike due to the non-payment of salaries .
Baghdad Today correspondent said, "The retirement, tax, notary, traffic, cement factories, electricity, industry and schools departments in Sulaymaniyah, Halabja, Sayyid Sadiq, Chamchamal and Raparin have gone on strike completely ."
The correspondent quoted employees as saying that they "will continue the strike, even if the regional government pays the employees' salaries for the month of October of this year, because their demands are to pay salaries for three months, and to deposit them exclusively in federal banks."
