The Arab Foreign Ministers issued the final statement of the meeting of the member states of the Arab Ministerial Contact Committee on Syria.

The statement, in which Iraq participated and which was followed by Al-Jabal, stressed "standing by the brotherly Syrian people and providing all aid and support to them in this delicate stage, and respecting their will and choices."

The statement spoke about "supporting a peaceful, inclusive Syrian-Syrian political transitional process in which all Syrian political and social forces are represented," in addition to "supporting the role of the UN envoy to Syria and requesting the UN Secretary-General to provide him with all necessary capabilities and to begin work on establishing a UN mission to assist Syria to support and sponsor the transitional process and assist the brotherly Syrian people."

The statement pointed out "the necessity of respecting the rights of the Syrian people in all their components, without any discrimination on the basis of race, sect or religion, and ensuring justice and equality for all citizens."

He also touched on "the commitment to enhance efforts to combat terrorism and cooperation in fighting it, in light of the fact that it poses a threat to Syria and to the security of the region and the world, and its defeat constitutes a unifying priority."

The attendees condemned "the Zionist entity's incursion into the buffer zone with Syria and the chain of sites adjacent to it in Mount Hermon, Quneitra Governorate, and Rif Dimashq Governorate, and rejected it as a brutal occupation and a violation of international law."
