The Ministry of Agriculture announced today, Saturday, the launch of the Agricultural Loan Fund soon, while indicating that it has undertaken several initiatives in cooperation with international organizations to direct grants and loans to target groups such as areas affected by climate change and terrorism.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mithaq Abdul Hussein told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The Ministry of Agriculture is concerned with developing the agricultural sector, and it deals with the private sector in most of its fields," noting that "the ministry has undertaken several initiatives in cooperation with international organizations to direct grants and loans provided by the European Union and the World Bank towards target groups such as areas affected by climate change and areas affected by terrorism."
He added that "the Ministry of Agriculture is pushing the private sector to support small and medium enterprises in order to advance the agricultural sector," noting that "the Agricultural Lending Fund will be launched soon."
He explained that "the Development Fund was launched with loans provided by the Iraqi government according to the project and its feasibility study, with the possibility of supporting most projects that can be developed."[/size]
