Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Iraqi Minister of Human Rights, Mohamed Shiya al-Sudani, stressed the importance of keeping the demonstrations peaceful and avoiding the destructive foreign agendas.
A statement by the Ministry reported on Tuesday “Sudani received the Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq, Mohamed Mustafa al-Qaraan, where they discussed the current political situation in the region.”
Sudani confirmed that “The Iraqi Government is earnest in dealing with the demonstrators’ demands through forming the ministerial commission which includes the MoHR in its memberships to consider these demands.”
“The ministerial commission answered many of these demands which are included within the government’s tasks,” he added noting “As for amending some laws, it is the parliament’s mission to do these acts.”
For his part, “The Jordanian Ambassador referred to the size of the challenges experienced by the region and the seriousness of the situation in Iraq, emphasizing the need to control Iraq’s borders with its neighboring countries.”
