    Announced that the US ambassador in Baghdad, Stuart Jones, on Tuesday, that the trade exchange between Iraq and the United States totaled more than $ 16 billion at the current time, and confirmed that more than seven billion of them Iraqi exports, and in attributing the lack of large country companies in the Iraqi market to work with local agents, pointed out that Washington is looking to expand its relations "strategy" with Baghdad.


    Said Stuart Jones in an interview to the (long-Presse), "The United States excited to work with Iraq in accordance with the strategic framework signed between the two countries, which include, among other things, the business side agreement," noting that "the focus on defeating Daash does not mean that Washington is keen to expand trade exchange with Iraq. "


    The ambassador added that "trade with Iraq has made good progress in terms exceeded 16 billion dollars currently," noting that "the value of the Iraqi market, exports to the United States of goods amounted to seven billion and $ 13 million during the year past 2014, indicating that they are promising."


    He said Jones, that "good commercial exchanges between the two countries is the existence of an increase of $ 900 million in US exports to Iraq size," pointing out that "the United States exported to Iraq worth two billion and a hundred million dollars, during the past 2014, compared to one billion two hundred million in the year 2013, is reason for optimism, the possibility of increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries.

    He explained Jones, "The United States exports to Iraq for many goods, including airplanes, automobiles, electronics and lighting tools and industrial and agricultural products," returned to "The majority of those goods with the exception of agricultural, do not aim to make a profit only, but rather constitute a transfer of technology and contribution to the development of Iraq."


    Jones said, "The amount of trade does not include the arms trade between the two countries, because they fall within a separate classification," revealing "the arrival of the amount of US arms sales to Iraq to nearly billion dollars in the past year 2014".


    And about the absence of a lot of well-known American companies in Iraq, counting Ambassador Jones, that "it does not mean that these companies are not interested in the Iraqi market," adding, "but it works with local representatives."


    He said the US ambassador that "the most important matter is that the United States looks forward to actually expand their trade with Iraq during the current year 2015".


    It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, revealed in (the thirtieth of December 2014 the past), the arrival of the volume of trade exchange between Baghdad and Washington to $ 15 billion and $ 300 million during that year.
