    UAE, June 08, 2015 – Al Hilal Bank recently hosted the third preparatory session for the United Arab Emirates Banks Reception scheduled to take place as part of the 2015 Annual Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) running from October 9 to 11, 2015 in Lima, Peru.
    The meeting was organized at the Al Hilal Bank headquarters in Abu Dhabi’s Al Bahr Tower and was attended by representatives from the UAE Ministry of Finance, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Dubai Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Union National Bank, and Commercial Bank of Dubai. The group discussed the status of marketing and media plans and other key activities related to the upcoming reception.
    The United Arab Emirates Banks Reception is being organized by The Banker, an English-language monthly international financial affairs publication owned by The Financial Times Ltd., in partnership with the Ministry of Finance, the Central Bank of the UAE and DIFC. Al Hilal Bank is among the UAE banks sponsoring the event. The invitation-only reception will gather senior bankers, investors, and policy makers to discuss the latest developments in the UAE banking sector.
    Mariam Ahli, Head of Corporate Communications, Al Hilal Bank, said: “We had a very productive preparatory meeting which provided us with updates on the ongoing arrangements for the ceremony. We now have a clearer idea of what has been done and what other concerns need to be addressed to ensure that we have a strong presence in this year’s Annual Meetings of the WBG and the IMF. Al Hilal Bank is committed to playing a proactive role in building bridges between the national and global banking and finance communities and commends the organizers and our industry peers for collaborating closely on the success of the reception.”
    The Annual Meetings of the WBG and IMF assemble financial industry players, government officials, academics and other key stakeholders to discuss the world economic outlook, economic development, poverty eradication, financial aid, and other issues of global concern. It features events such as seminars, regional briefings and press conferences that are focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial system.
