    The
    Iraqi electricity Ministry, announced Saturday, to sign a contract with
    a French company to create 20 secondary station cost $ 74 million,
    confirmed that the stations will contribute to the stability of the
    voltages and reduce loads occurring in the southern regions.

    Ministry
    spokesman Musab Al-teacher in a statement issued today, and received
    "alsumaria news", that "the Ministry today, signed a contract with the
    French company Schneider to create 20 high capacity station 33/11
    order", noting that "the duration of the contract is 18 months and cost a
    total of $ 74 million.

    The teacher added that "will be
    distributed by seven stations in Basra, six in Dhi Qar, and four sites
    in Maysan governorate, three in Muthanna Governorate", stating that
    "these stations will contribute to the stability of the voltages and
    loads in many southern areas especially in the summer season.

    The
    teacher explained that "the contract will include business design
    (civil, mechanics, electricity, communications, SCADA systems), with
    equipment and installation and backup material for these stations, as
    well as the training of engineering and technical staffs for d.g of
    electricity distribution/South at the stations.

    The electricity
    Ministry announced (December 16, 2012), signing a contract with
    mtsiobishi company of Japan to supply 400 to effort adapters in 250 Mika
    Watts power transmission in the departments central region and the
    middle and upper Euphrates and the northern region.

    The
    electricity Ministry (December 13, 2012), it lost the capacity of 1,600
    MW due to maintenance and rehabilitation operations, in addition to 750
    MW due to shortage of fuel.

    Iraq is suffering a shortage of
    electricity since the beginning of 1990, and increased electricity
    rationing hours after 2003 in Baghdad and the provinces, because many
    stations in addition to sabotage the facilities over the past five
    years, where the blackout hours from citizens to about 24 hours per day,
    increased adoption of people to small power generators.
