[ltr]Iraq and the United States agree to organize a workshop to finance electricity projects [/ltr]

[ltr] The Ministry of Electricity, on Wednesday, the agreement with the US Embassy to organize a workshop to finance electricity projects co-sponsored by the Iraqi and US governments.
The ministry said in a statement received long copy of it, "Electricity Minister Qassim Fahdawi discussed during his meeting with the US ambassador in Iraq, today, ways of joint cooperation in the field of energy," noting that "it was agreed during the meeting to organize a workshop to finance electricity projects co-sponsored between the Iraqi and US governments. "
The statement added, "The workshop will see the participation of the ministries of oil, electricity, finance, planning, and major US relevant companies," adding that "the workshop will be held in the capital, Baghdad, in the month of October next."
He was a member of the Commission on oil and energy parliamentary Tariq friend revealed in (September 52 015) for exchange $ 45 billion to the electricity sector during the past ten years, as called for Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to activate the financial control.
Iraq has suffered a shortage of electricity since the beginning of the year 1990, and increased hours of power rationing after the year 2003, in Baghdad and the provinces, because made a lot of stations as well as sabotage attacks on facilities over the past years, with increased hours of power cuts for citizens to about twenty hours per day, as witnessed during the last term significant improvement as continued operating hours to about 23 hours, especially after the low temperatures.
