BREAKING NEWS Maliki gives Sadrist ministers time until Sunday to clarify their stand on attending next ministerial session

    20/03/2013 19:04:00

Baghdad (NINA) – Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki gave ministers of the Sadrist Trend time until Sunday to make their stand clear to attend Tuesday's ministerial session.

In a statement to the press on Wednesday, March 20, the Prime Minister's Media Advisor, Ali al-Mosawi, said that the ministers couldn't continue carrying up their duties without attending the cabinet's meetings.

He added that Sadrist ministers would not be treated different from other ministers who boycott the cabinet's session.

In a press conference on Wednesday held at Ahrar headquarters, Sadrist ministers announced they suspend attending the cabinet's meetings. However, they will continue carrying their duties in serving the people.

It is noteworthy that since January 8, Iraqiya Alliance ministers are boycotting the cabinet's sessions, while Kurdish Alliance minister have not attended the cabinet's last two sessions.
