    Maple syrup adds a sweet note to thick-cut bacon slices, which are delicious served alongside pancakes, eggs or waffles. Or include these sweet-savory treats on a buffet table for a tasty appetizer.

    Ingredients:


    • 1 lb. (500 g) thick-cut bacon slices
    • 1/4 cup (2 3/4 fl. oz./85 ml) maple syrup, warmed

    This pairs well with rich, full-bodied sparkling wines from our Wine Club.

    Directions:

    Preheat an oven to 400°F (200°C).

    Place the bacon slices on a large, oven-safe grill pan or baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven. Brush the bacon slices with maple syrup and pour off the excess fat from the pan. Return the pan to the oven and continue baking until the bacon is crispy, about 5 minutes more.

    Transfer the bacon to a parchment-lined baking sheet and let drain for about 5 minutes. Serve immediately. Serves 6 to 8.
