Twilight News / Kazem al-Saadi said Chairman of the Commission services in the Iraqi parliament, said that the airline "has incurred heavy financial losses, due to stop flights to Europe due to the lack of international commitment to the determinants of safety."
He said al-Saadi Friday that "the $ 1.5 billion allocated for the purchase of new aircraft to increase the company's fleet during the term of the previous government," noting that "a number of modern aircraft and arrived in Iraq and entered service, but poor management make them banned from flying in European airspace," according to the source.
He explained that "the potential of the company's planes and other features such as access to subsidized fuel from the state, along with aircraft exemption from the payment of rent floors, was supposed to Agelaha profitable company, but today will incur a heavy financial losses due to poor management."
The official said "there is a preference for other tanker companies operating in Iraq, and this action violates Iraqi law," adding that "Parliament will question the Minister of Transport Baqir al-Zubaidi, the beginning of the legislative term, due to declining performance of the airline."
The European Union announced in December / December 2015, in an official statement posted on his official website, the inclusion of Iraqi Airways in the list of preventing the conduct of flights to Europe, noting that the decision was made to Iraq's non-commitment to the implementation of safety requirements accredited to the Union.
Iraq has a modern fleet of passenger aircraft, consisting of 28 aircraft, "Boeing" of America, and "Bompardo" Canadian, newly imported under contracts entered into during the past few years, part of a plan to revitalize the national carrier.
