The Minister reviewed during his meeting with the US Ambassador, according to a statement by the Ministry of electricity, “the reality of the national electricity system and the challenges it faces and the Ministry’s preparations for the summer of 2016, in light of the reduction of budgets and financial austerity through which the government passes.
The Minister also reviewed the Ministry’s plans for the rehabilitation of the electricity system in the province of Anbar.
For his part, Jones expressed his country’s readiness to support the Iraqi national electricity system with expertise and capabilities, in order to raise the capacity of the system that would contribute to its stability. / End
