Sweet honey and savory walnuts are excellent accompaniments to the goat cheese in this easy-to-make finger food. You can toast the baguette slices up to 8 hours in advance and then top them at the last minute.

    • 79

    Ingredients:

    • 40 baguette slices, each 1/4 inch thick (about 1 1/2 baguettes)
    • 1/2 lb. soft goat cheese
    • 1/2 cup honey

    • 1 cup chopped walnuts

    Directions:

    Preheat an oven to 350°F.

Arrange the baguette slices in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake until lightly golden, about 15 minutes. Turn the slices over and bake until lightly golden on the other side, about 10 minutes more. Let cool.

Spread each toast with about 2 tsp. goat cheese. Drizzle each with a generous 1/2 tsp. honey and sprinkle with a generous 1 tsp. walnuts. Serve immediately. Serves 14 to 16.
