    Lovely silver-gray foliage.
    Dusty Miller

    • Type: Annual
    • Light: Part shade
    • Plant spacing: 8 to 12 inches apart
    • Plant size: 10 inches tall

Velvety, silver-gray foliage is the hallmark of Dusty Miller. While it will produce blooms, many gardeners pinch off flowers to encourage leaf production. The silver-gray tone pops against the bright green foliage offered by many other annuals. Use this plant in containers and landscapes, paired with red or yellow flowers for high contrast, or with purple or blue flowers for a subtler look. Very easy to grow. Dusty Miller is grown as a perennial in Southern regions and as an annual elsewhere. Although few plants can be called completely deer resistant, this one doesn’t seem to be a very popular menu item for foraging deer. Use the wooly silver leaves as a foil for other flowers in an arrangement. Dusty Miller may live more than a year in areas where the winter is mild. Trim yours back in very early spring if it should overwinter.
Some Bonnie Plants varieties may not be available at your local stores, as we select and sell varieties best suited to the growing conditions in each region.
