    11:53:46 p.m. 14/03/2016 |(Voice of Iraq) - Baghdad called on the Iraqi Ministry ofAgriculture, on Monday, to theprotection ofagricultural produce and control on imported vegetables in the country, and insisting on theneed between border crossing points and thefinance ministry coordination on customs tariff, the General Union Cooperative Society peasant confirmed, that the peasants havesuffered through the last two years significant losses due to the lack ofadequate government measures to protect the local product. the Minister ofAgriculture, Falah Hassan Zeidan in aninterview with(long - Presse) on the opening ofthe Ministry of the eighth Agricultural show sidelines and Arbor day on the land of theBaghdad international Fair, said that " the establishment of such a exhibitions concerned agriculture, aimed at developing the sector and boosting crop production and create partnerships between thesectoral public and private aswell as urged the ministry 'sdepartments to give more effort. " he pointed Zidane, that" product Protection Act stipulated in theIraqi constitution, but the problem that we face is in theports border and I think there must be coordination between these border crossing points and the Ministry ofFinance on thecustoms tariff ,"and urged theconcerned authorities towork on" agricultural product protection. " for his part, theGeneral Federation of Association of the agricultural cooperative, good fishing Prime Tamimi said in aninterview (range Press) " theagricultural sector is going through difficult circumstances and facing major challenges due to the invasion ofimported product and of course if we want advancement of our agriculture there must be protection of theIraqi product."said Tamimi, that "some brothers in the Ministry ofAgriculture assert the existence ofagricultural calendar and semi so this whole thing is alie , because thefarmer is losing the past two years the farmer very large losses and is unable to agriculture and this is what youwish for some of the states for thepersonal benefit to them ,"stressing that" there is agovernment interest inparliament this aspect to revive the agricultural sector , theindustrial sector and also . " in thesame context, said agricultural expert Adnan Oz Shammari said in an interview to the (long -Presse) that" large quantities of vegetables coming into Iraq from neighboring countries, which caused the stalled theadvancement of the local product , "and expressed hope" that have there is agovernment decision to reduce this matter in order tosupport theagricultural sector in Iraq.
