30 BLOCKS OF HILLARY & WATERMELONS

I haven’t provided a 30 Blocks of Squalor update in a while, but to my delight none other than Hillary Clinton made an appearance on the 30 Blocks this past week, spurring me to ponder her level of commitment to the black families of West Philly. She gave a stirring anti-capitalism speech at West Philadelphia High School. The purported reason for the rally was a get out the vote event. In the corrupt cesspool of Philadelphia that means having black voters casting more votes for their Democrat candidate than there are registered voters. Obama won 102% of the vote in 2008 and 2012 in West Philly. Hillary should hire the Black Panthers who did such a bang up job encouraging white voter turnout in 2008.

Due to an accident on the Schuylkill Expressway, I happened to drive by West Philly High on the morning of her speech. I had to dodge gaping potholes, ignorant double parked squalorites and SEPTA buses on Chestnut Street while driving my five year old Honda Civic on the 30 Blocks of Squalor to my job. Hillary flew into Philly on a private jet, stepped into a stretch limousine driven by a chauffeur, surrounded herself with dozens of armed Secret Service agents and campaign apparatchiks in black SUVs, and proceeded to create gridlock as traffic laws don’t apply to the ruling elite.


West Philly High’s gymnasium only holds a couple hundred people to begin with. So it would take a tremendous effort on the part of CNN (Clinton News Network) and the rest of the in the bag for Hillary liberal media to give the appearance of a tremendous crowd. They’ve had a lot of practice at photo misrepresentation, as Hillary attracts dozens to her rallies while Trump attracts tens of thousands, with many turned away at the gates.

Gaze at the adoring throng scrambling to get in to see Hillary give one of her screeching shrill diatribes against the very banks and corporations who have been bankrolling her lifestyle of the rich and famous for the last 16 years. The unbridled enthusiasm of this raucous horde of adoring fans was palpable.

When the Democrat candidate for president comes to a city run by Democrats for the last 50 years, with 776,000 registered Democrat voters, 90 days before the election, you would expect thousands of Hillary worshipers desperate to get a glimpse of the next president and hear her inspiring message of change. Instead she drew a few dozen liberal drones, programmed to cheer when told to do so. The press practically outnumbered the attendees. Hillary is forced to pick extremely small venues in order to make it seem like an overflow crowd. Never has a candidate produced less enthusiasm from her supposed base.

When she opened her mouth hilarity ensued. I wonder how she is able to make the following statements without cracking up. Hillary Clinton going after Wall Street to pay their fair share is like the pope going after God to reduce sinning in the world. The hypocrisy is so outrageous, only a crowd of low IQ liberals wouldn’t understand. And Hillary found such a crowd.

“We’re going after the corporations. We’re going after Wall Street to make sure they pay their fair share.”

Let’s put this in perspective. Hillary and Bill left the White House in 2000. Hillary declared they were dead broke and in debt when they left the White House, just like most of the people in West Philly. She could feel their pain. She was one of them. She has had two jobs since then. As a U.S. Senator she made $174,000 per year. As Secretary of State she made $186,000 per year. Bill hasn’t had a job in 16 years. Somehow, they’ve managed to accumulate over $100 million during that time. Selling access and favors can be quite lucrative. The people living on the 30 Blocks of Squalor should take note and implement the same plan.
Hillary stands in front of a few dozen poor and downtrodden citizens of West Philly wearing a $12,000 pants suit from her Mao Collection and railing against the evil Wall Street cabal and how she is going to bring them to their knees. Immediately upon stepping down as Secretary of State in 2013 to plot her path to the presidency, she went on a two year corporate/banking “speech” tour where she raked in $21.6 million for 92 speeches. Those evil banks paid her $1.8 million for 8 “speeches”, including 3 to Goldman Sachs (the vampire squid on the face of America).
Her standard fee for a 1 hour “speech” was $225,000. Have you seen her speak? I wouldn’t pay $2.25 to hear her rehashed socialist drivel. As she publicly rails against banks and corporate America, she was assuring Lloyd Blankfein and his cronies that she had their backs. That’s why there are no transcripts of these speeches. Her requirements for delivering a one hour speech as outlined by her ad agency are:

• $225,000 in small bills
  
• Travel by private jet, preferably a Gulfstream 450 or larger
  
• First class tickets for all her staff and hanger-ons
  
• Two staff on site three days prior to the speech with transportation and meals included
  
• She must be booked into the presidential suite of a five star hotel, with separate rooms attached.
  
• And an unlimited supply of 18 year old interns and cigars, if Bill tags along.
  

She’s clearly one of us. Does anyone in their right mind not understand the $21.6 million are bribes for future services? The average annual salary for people living in West Philly is just over $20,000. While these people cheer Hillary as their savior, do they realize she collected more bribes in 60 minutes from criminal Too Big To Trust Wall Street bankers than they make in 10 years? The blatant hypocrisy of her words when compared to her actions reveals a person with no integrity, no morals, and no soul. She is rotten to the core.
Philadelphia has been under the complete control of the Democratic Party machine for over 50 years. Blacks now account for 44% of the population, with whites at 32% and Hispanics at 14%. Asians and others account for the remainder. The poverty, joblessness, crime, drug infestation, failing schools, political corruption and overall degradation and decay of a once great city can be placed solely at the feet of Hillary and her liberal Democrat minions, whose welfare state policies have enslaved the black population in the chains of dependence and squalor.
In Philadelphia, murders are up 7% YTD after rising by 13% in the previous year. At the current rate, homicides will top 300 for the first time since 2009. Another Obama success story. Virtually all the murders will be committed by black men against other black men. And still, Hillary and the inept Democrat politicians will use the race card and obtain 90% of the popular vote in West Philly. It’s insane.

After her usual campaign speech pablum, Hillary was whisked away by her entourage of heavily armed (it’s OK for her protectors to have guns, but not us) SS agents and campaign sycophants, away from the riff raff as quickly as possible. Why didn’t she press the flesh along the 30 Blocks of Squalor? I’m sure the adoring throngs would hail their new female savior. Obama certainly elevated their lives over the last 8 years. Oh yeah. The percentage of non-working blacks has increased from 41.6% in 2007 to 43.6% today. The median household income of blacks has declined by more than any other race under the reign of Obama.

The percentage of black people living in poverty has never been higher. The number of people on food stamps when Obama entered office was 30 million. Today it stands at 45 million. This is considered a success by liberals, as the cost of this welfare “solution” rose from $50 billion to $75 billion. The Great Society hasn’t been so great for the people of West Philly living in dilapidated hovels along garbage strewn, crime ridden streets, with water and sewer pipes bursting to provide the monthly entertainment. At least the government is run by incompetent, untalented, unresponsive bureaucrats who have driven the city towards bankruptcy while suffocating the remaining businesses and citizens with an ever increasing tax burden while proving incapable of even timing the stop lights on the 30 Blocks of Squalor.
Liberal (aka socialist) solutions always involve spending taxpayer money on programs or structures which are supposed to fix the problems created by their previous solutions. They always know what’s best for the peasants, as they have been blessed with the knowledge and understanding to solve all of man’s ills. Freedom, liberty, and self sufficiency are seen as dangerous attributes by these corrupted control freaks. The very West Philadelphia High School tainted by the appearance of the most crooked politician on the face of the earth is the perfect example of the warped failed solutions of liberal know it all politicians.
I wrote a story about the old West Philly High School in 2012, detailing it’s outstanding educational credentials. Built in 1912, it resembled a prison, with bars on the windows to keep out the same teenagers who entered through the front door. Many of its prestigious graduates and dropouts now occupy actual prison cells. It was located on Walnut St. and 47th Street in the heart of West Philly. It closed in 2011, as a brand spanking new West Philadelphia High School was constructed on Chestnut St. at 49th Street. It remains vacant and unoccupied five years after being shuttered.

I noted in the previous article that enrollment was 900, with 268 freshman and only 130 seniors. It seems 50% of all students who entered West Philly High School dropped out before graduating. I’m sure they found more lucrative careers in the pharmaceutical distribution industry. More than 78% of students scored below basic for math and 69% below basic for reading. In 2010 there were 350 kids eligible to take the SAT exam, but only 94 geniuses (the best of the best) took the exam. Their average scores of 350 for math and 349 for verbal were beyond pathetic. The state averages of 482 for math and 473 for verbal were below the national averages of 515 and 500, dragged down by the terrible scores “achieved” throughout the Philadelphia public school system.
Rather than address the real problems creating the atmosphere of ignorance and failure in West Philly, liberal politicians and irresponsible school district administrators decided it was the building that was the problem. If you provided these West Philly scholars with an ultra-modern facility of higher learning, they would surely thrive and become smart. So, they took $66 million from the $800 billion Obama porkulus plan and built a 170,000 square foot Shangri-la, with 3 levels, dozens of modern high tech classrooms, two gyms, and science labs to promote their Hybrid X automotive program to create fuel-efficient cars.   The building was designed to focus on three West Philadelphia High School academies: urban leadership, creative and performing arts, and business technology.

This new institution of higher learning opened in 2011. The picture above is a perfect representation of the “new” school. The trees obscure the bars over the lower level windows and you have two Philadelphia police vehicles in front, probably there to arrest some fine upstanding West Philly youths selling drugs or assaulting someone. You can take the West Philly youths out of an old dilapidated school and put them in a brand new modern facility, but you can’t take the West Philly culture of ignorance out of the youths. On an annual basis there have been 30 to 65 serious crimes (assaults, drugs, weapons, theft) within this building since opening. It is probably worth noting that 96% of the student body is black, with only 1% white. Imagine being one of the 7 white students walking the hallways of this fine institution.
According to the US News & World Report Scorecard, this is one of the worst public high schools in the nation. Despite the fancy new digs, enrollment has dropped to only 661, but at least only 32% dropout before graduating. With all the high tech classrooms, science labs, fantastic library and student to teacher ratio of only 13 to 1, surely these students should be thriving academically according to liberal orthodoxy. But a funny thing happened on the way to making West Philly kids smart again. It seems only 11% are proficient in Math (state level is 60%) and 24% in English (state level is 70%). Perfect future Democrat voters – ignorant and easily manipulated. They are proficient in rap music, ebonics, texting on their iPhones and the use of illegal firearms.
It seems after a $66 million taxpayer funded capital investment, the best efforts of 51 overpaid union drone public school teachers, and the daily involvement of their married supportive parents (just kidding – the only thing you are less likely to see in West Philly than a kid carrying a school book is a woman with a wedding ring), the kids in West Philly are even dumber than before. Only 68 young scholars took the SAT exam in 2015 and averaged 348 in Math and 344 in Reading. Just slightly below the national averages of 513 and 497. It seems the old facility may not have been the problem, as their scores dropped over the last five years.
According to US News and World Report only 3.2% of West Philly High graduates are ready for college. But thanks to Obama and the doling out of hundreds of billions in taxpayer funded student loans, 42% of all West Philly High graduates enroll in college. It would be laughable if it wasn’t so sad. There is zero chance that 99% of these enrollees ever graduate college and a 100% chance you will end up paying for the loan losses. When confronted with the facts proving the complete and utter failure of their “solution”, liberals always respond with the need for more funds for Pre-K, head start or some other bullshit government program that won’t work.
The liberal mantra of spending millions on new buildings, gold plated union teacher contracts, common core curriculum, free breakfast and lunch, and a myriad of other government initiated drivel under the banner of “Doing It For the Children” has proven to be nothing but false promises. The proof is four blocks further down the 30 Blocks of Squalor at 45th and Chestnut Street. There sits another old building built in 1916 and still in use. It houses the faculty and students of West Catholic.

It has enrollment of 349 students who pay approximately $8,000 per year to attend. It’s student to faculty ratio of 10 to 1 isn’t much lower than West Philly High. The other commonality is only 1.7% of its students are white. Over 80% are black. It is drawing from the very same neighborhoods as West Philly High. It’s teachers are paid significantly less than public school teachers. It’s facility is 100 years old and looks it.
Somehow this school, with almost identical student demographics as West Philly High, with underpaid teachers, in a century old building, has virtually all of its students taking the SAT and achieving average scores of 425 in Math and 448 in Reading. Those aren’t world record setting scores, but they are 22% to 30% higher than West Philly High’s average, with virtually all eligible students taking the exam. Their 84% college enrollment rate is twice the West Philly High rate. How do liberals explain this divergence? They can’t. More money, more union teachers, and more government involvement is not the answer.
Liberal Democrats don’t want to hear the answer because they hate facts, logic, math, and understanding how existing welfare policies incentivize the very behavior that perpetuates ignorance, dependency, poverty and crime in West Philly and every Democrat controlled urban ghetto in the country. In order to send their child to West Catholic a black family has to pony up $8,000 for tuition. Only married working black couples who care more about their children than leasing a Cadillac Escalade, spending $300 per month for an iGadget, or getting all the pay cable channels and the NBA supreme package, can give their kids a better shot to climb out of the West Philly ghetto.
The fact is that 72% of all black children are born out of wedlock. The number of single parent (mother) households in West Philly is astronomical, as black men shirk their fatherly duties just as their fathers did before them. A culture of ignorance and dependency has grown since LBJ’s Great Society programs were rolled out 50 years ago. The warped welfare policies in effect today reward black women in West Philly for having more children out of wedlock. And the liberal socialist reaction is to play upon white guilt to extract more taxes (Phila soda tax) “for the children”. It’s actually “for the teacher’s union”.
It’s always for the children. Why do white men living in the suburbs, working at jobs, staying married, raising their own kids, and paying obscene levels of taxes need to subsidize the sloth, ignorance, and failure of black men in West Philly to raise the children they bring into the world? Until the people of West Philly are forced to accept the consequences of their damaging actions, nothing will change. Making them even more dependent upon the Federal government is Hillary’s get out the vote master plan. As George Carlin profoundly stated:
“There’s a reason education sucks, and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, ever be fixed. Because the owners of this country don’t want that. I’m talking about the real owners now, the BIG owners! The Wealthy… the REAL owners! The big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. That’s against their interests.
That’s right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that! Good honest hard-working people continue, these are people of modest means, continue to elect these rich cock suckers who don’t give a f*** about you….they don’t give a f*** about you… they don’t give a f*** about you.”
Education sucks and will continue to suck because your owners, and their representative Hillary Clinton, want a dumbed down populace who can be manipulated easily through mass media propaganda. Despite her best efforts to pander to blacks by saying she carries hot sauce in her $5,000 purse, Hillary Clinton is nothing but an establishment neo-con, beholden to Wall Street bankers, mega-corporations, the military industrial complex and the wealthy elite owners who run this country. She is a soulless psychopath who will do and say anything to grasp the reigns of power over this country and inflict her demented agenda upon the iGadget distracted masses.
You may have been wondering why watermelons were referenced in the title of this article. I know associating black people and watermelons is considered racist in this politically correct social justice warrior world we inhabit. But what if you arrive at the stop light at 34th Street and Mantua Avenue and witness a black entrepreneur having pulled their truck over, extracting two cinder blocks and placing a wooden board on top with cut hunks of watermelon for sale as black guys put their hazards on at the red light, get out of their cars and glory in their good luck? Is that racist?
I’m sure the watermelon entrepreneur had the proper permits, licenses and paperwork from the city to undertake such a venture. I’m also sure he was charging and remitting the 19% watermelon tax passed by city council last week. It’s too bad Hillary had already flown off to her next pandering event in her Gulfstream 450 or she could have arranged a black watermelon entrepreneur photo op to prove she’s just like the people of West Philly.

The 30 Blocks of Squalor will continue to deteriorate no matter how much of other people’s money is squandered on failed welfare programs designed by the Democratic party to keep blacks enslaved in their urban plantation and voting for their continued enslavement. They’ve been brainwashed to believe Hillary Clinton and other feckless liberal politicians actually care about their plight and know what’s best for them. They’ve chosen government provided subsistence to freedom, opportunity, educational choice and self respect. Bad choices lead to bad outcomes.
