The Ministry of Industry and Minerals, on Thursday, its willingness to sign the final contract with Shell International format of participation, to create a large petrochemical plant in Basra province.
He said ministry spokesman Abdel Wahed al-Shammari told / information /, that his ministry "is preparing to sign a final contract form to participate with Shell International, in order to start the establishment of a huge laboratory for Petrochemical Industries in Basra province," adding that "the ministry agreed with the earlier the company on this vital and important project. "
He added, that "the Minister of Industry and Minerals Agency Mohammed Shia 'Al Sudani, the face of overcoming the obstacles facing the project, such as a piece of land and processing of raw materials needed by the construction process," noting that "the minister held yesterday a meeting with agents of the ministries of oil, planning and transportation and communication to solve problems facing the project, and obtaining approvals from the authorities concerned, in order to accelerate to proceed after signing the contract. "
He said al-Shammari, "This project is a large and important projects, as it will be designed according to the latest international standards," adding that he "will make it the country's largest producer of petrochemicals in the region, and will provide a lot of job opportunities to the people of Basra and the surrounding provinces, will also encourage and plastic industry, textile industries in the south of the country.
