    Iraqi Central Bank acknowledged its inability and failure to banks operating in Iraq observe and assess the level of their work and their eligibility for the performance of the financial and economic role.

    Governor of the Central Bank on the Keywords announced a contract with the bank 's global companies to evaluate the work of banks, indicating that the banks will be dealt with, according to those assessments.

    Keywords and said in a press statement, "The banking sector in Iraq, a modern configuration and modern existence, grew up in unfavorable conditions and in an environment of a lot of challenges, but at the same time contain a lot of opportunities."

    He added, "to ensure growth and stimulate the banking sector depend on the application of globally agreed best practices, which advanced thanks to which countries in the banking sector."

    He explained the Keywords, "the central bank focus, today, on these criteria is very large and is trying to better standards on the subject of control, compliance and management applied risk," noting that "he began to assess the work of banks through contracts with international companies, given the indicators and figures on the operating banks in Iraq".

    The banking system in Iraq consists of "45" banks, in addition to the central bank, "7" , including state banks and "23" commercial banks , including a special "9" Islamic banks, in addition to "15" branches of foreign banks.
