Daini criticizes restrictions imposed on investments in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Economic and Investment Parliamentary Committee, Nahida al-Daini, described the investment in Iraq as “semi- dead” due to “restrictions imposed on this field.”
Daini stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) Friday “The investment in Iraq goes very slowly due to the restrictions imposed on the investment law in addition to contradictions of authorities between the Central Government and the National Investment Bureau besides lack of financial support and bad security situation.”
“Since 2005 till now, we cannot say that Iraq has investments in comparison to investments in Kurdistan Region,” she added.
“Investment in Iraq needs providing the suitable environment and changing the investment law,” she concluded.
