Maple Leafs set to play hot Hurricanes club tonight
Carolina was terrible to start season, but have won four in a row and have picked up points in eight of their last 11 games.

When the Maple Leafs play the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night, it’ll be a battle of mirror images.
Both are teams on the rise, bolstered by an injection of young players, both coached to play a possession-style game. For the Leafs, of course, it’s Mike Babcock behind the bench. For the Canes, it’s Babcock protege Bill Peters.
“I think he’s done a real good job, they’ve got a real good team, a real good back end, it makes it hard on you,” Babcock said of Carolina and Peters. “They play tight. There’s not going to be a lot of room out there for either team.
“Whoever works the hardest, and generates the most junk in front of the net, is going to have a chance to win.”
The Hurricanes were terrible to start the season, but have won four in a row and have picked up points in eight of their last 11 games. Cam Ward has been stellar in net: 5-1-2 in November with 1.59 GAA and .954 save percentage so far this month.
“They play the same style of hockey we play, and they’re really hot right now,” said Leafs forward Tyler Bozak. “They got a lot of confidence and we have to be ready.”

The Leafs are coming off a loss Saturday in Montreal.
