    Japan welcomed the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2017, by which it decided to remove Iraq from Chapter VII.

    According to a statement by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry received all Iraq [] copy of it today, "the Japanese Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2017, by which it decided to remove Iraq from Chapter VII."

    "Japan also welcomed the efforts made by the Governments of Kuwait and to improve bilateral relations through diplomatic means.

    He said Japan hoped to strengthen the Iraqi Government from its obligations to resolve outstanding issues with Kuwait in order to contribute to peace and stability in the Middle East and strengthening relations with neighboring countries. "

    The Security Council last Thursday voted overwhelmingly to exit Iraq from international sanctions imposed under the provisions of Chapter VII, because of the previous regime's invasion of Kuwait in 1990.
