[ltr]Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, the political and security situation.[/ltr]
[ltr]A statement by the SIIC cited “Nijaifi met with Hakim on last Sunday and they discussed during the meeting, the political situation and means to rehabilitate it where they stressed the necessity of the national unity and renouncement of violence.”[/ltr]
[ltr]“The two sides confirmed the need to continue the dialogue and meetings to settle the problems, noting “the deteriorated security across the Iraqi provinces is indicative for presence of malicious plot being set to disturb the democratic regime in Iraq,” the statement added.[/ltr]
[ltr]“Both parties also discussed the regional events and its consequences on the Iraq,” the statement concluded.[/ltr]
