    CIA director Mike Pompeo described WikiLeaks as a "hostile intelligence service", using his first speech after taking office to denounce the secret information smugglers suffered by US intelligence services.
    In a speech Thursday to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, described him as "fraudulent" and "cowardly."
    "It is time to describe WikiLeaks as a reality, a hostile anti-government intelligence agency often provoked by governments like Russia," Pompeo said.
    He added that the Russian military intelligence service [JRI] used WikiLeaks to leak material obtained through electronic infiltration to computers belonging to the National Democratic Committee during the presidential election campaign in 2016.
    The US intelligence services concluded that Russia had stolen e-mails and carried out other actions to sway the election in favor of Republican Donald Trump, who beat his rival Hillary Clinton.
    WikiLeaks has published secret documents for the US government and others and says its mission is to fight government secrecy and promote transparency. "We encouraged his followers to look for jobs in the CIA to get intelligence," he said.
    In March, WikiLeaks published thousands of pages of CIA internal discussions revealing methods used by CIA to infiltrate iPhones, iPhones, Android devices, and other targets.

Hillary Clinton has stated multiple times, falsely, that 17 US intelligence agencies had assessed that Russia was the source of our publications.     Assange, who spoke with Pilger at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he has been for four years, also accused the US presidential candidate of being a pawn of behind-the-scenes interests, and voiced doubts about her physical fitness to take charge of the White House.

    The Homeland Security Department and Office of the Director of National Intelligence posted a joint statement in October, claiming they were “confident” that the Russian government “directed” this year’s leaks.
    Moscow has rejected the accusation, with presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov calling the claims “nonsense,” while Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the “public bickering with Russia” before the US election is probably a “smokescreen” to draw the voters’ attention away from serious domestic issues.
