Erbil: Iraq News Network-the American Consul Joseph binnghton, Director of external relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, Falah Mustafa on September 3, 2013, the agreement "provides for the allocation of land for the construction of a new complex building of the General Consulate in Erbil. According to Consul General Joseph binnghton in his presence "that happened today represents an important milestone in US-Iraq relations, especially relations with the Kurdistan Regional Government and the general public in northern Iraq, as the new complex of the Consulate General clearly demonstrates our long-term commitment to strengthen and broaden the relations between the American people and people in northern Iraq." Binnghton said that the United States would begin work as soon as possible to develop the overall design of the new complex, hoping to lay the groundwork by year-end 2014. it is worth mentioning that the United States General Consulate in Erbil, opened in July of 2011, and the strengthening of political, economic and cultural relations, not to mention the security cooperation between the United States and the Iraqi people in the three provinces of Kurdistan region of Iraq, Sulaimaniyah, Dohuk and Arbil. The diplomatic representation of the United States throughout the Iraq reflected through the strategic framework agreement of friendship and cooperation between the United States and the Republic of Iraq, which I have since signed in 2008 as a basis for a long-term bilateral relationship based on common objectives.
