WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump has kept a nuclear deal with Iran, retreating one of his top electoral promises by tearing apart a deal struck two years ago by big powers with Tehran.
Trump has threatened to impose sanctions on Iran not related to its nuclear program, but to two other military programs, a US official said Monday night.
According to Agence France-Presse, the official said on condition of anonymity that on the nuclear agreement concluded by the major powers with Iran on July 14, 2015 under former US President Barack Obama, the Trump administration considers that Tehran "abide by the conditions" provided, which means not to impose Any US sanctions because of its nuclear program.
But the official pointed out that the US administration intends to impose sanctions on Iran because of two military programs developed, one of ballistic missiles and the other speedboats.
