Killed by Saudi army in battles on the border with Yemen
Two Saudi soldiers were killed in battles on the southern border with Yemen on Tuesday evening, bringing the number of dead on the border since May 10 to more than 50 soldiers.
"The first soldier, Walid bin Ibrahim Sharifi, and Corporal Ali bin Yaqoub Tamihi, from the border guards, killed the sector of the Jazan strip at the southern border," SPA said.
The agency added that the bodies of the two soldiers were honored Sharifi and Tamihi in the provinces of Abu Arish and Sabia, respectively.
The Saudi agency did not address the circumstances of the deaths of the two soldiers, but Saudi media spoke of repelling an attack by Ansar Allah "Houthi" in Jazan, and the explosion of a landmine in a military patrol.
The border strip is witnessing a major escalation as Ansar Allah has stepped up rocket attacks on Saudi territory as the Arab-led coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, continues to raid the Houthi and Saleh positions in border areas.
