    Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed newspaper published a report on the possibility of a "conflict of rivalry" between representatives of factions and other candidates for influential political parties, while a list of 38 candidates was published among 11 factions.

    "A week after the fledgling governor of Basra, Majid al-Nasraoui, fled to Iran, the province is witnessing a heated struggle between representatives of armed factions and other candidates for influential political parties to get the governor's seat in oil-rich Basra," the paper said.

    A source in the local administration in Basra, according to the newspaper that "armed factions operating within the popular crowd provided 11 candidates out of 38 submitted to the post of governor, until the end of Thursday," noting that "candidates for the militias," Badr "and" Asaib Ahl al-Haq " And the Iraqi "Hizballah" and "Al-Najaba" were among the list of those who wished to become governor of Basra.

    He pointed out that "the exercise of some pressures and threats against a number of strong candidates, to force them to withdraw from the nomination, likely to the occurrence of major conflicts may reach the extent of rivalry, before the winner is decided to be the governor of Basra."

    He also pointed out that "another dispute is about the position of governor of Basra between the Islamic Supreme Council and the stream of wisdom, led by Ammar al-Hakma, a newly dissident from the Supreme Council," asserting that "both parties claim to be the governor."

    The newspaper published a list of 38 candidates for the governor of Basra, Assaad Abdul Amir Al Abdali, Ashjan Al-Jabri, Ismail Odeh, Haidar Tohme Al-Abbadi, Ayad Al-Daraji, Khaled Safih, Rahim Al-Mahnawi, Saleh Ismail Najmuddin, Sabih Habib, Diaa Khalil Hussein, Taha Al-Tamimi , 'Abd al-Rahman al-'Uwaidi,' Abd al-Karim al-'Uwaidi, 'Abd al-Karim al-Haridi,' Adnan 'Odeh' Abd al-Karim,'Aqil al-Bahadli, 'Ali Hussein al-Maliki,' Ali Hussein 'Aziz,' Ali al-Khafaji, , Ali Marzouk Al-Jabri, Fares Ibrahim Al-Mansouri and Qasim Abdul Q Dr. Saleh, Qais Ali al-Ahmed, and Kamel Abdul Zahra al-Hilfi, full owner of Gomaa, Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, supporter Mazhar Hamid, and a certain Saleh Hassan, and Hisham Khalaf Abdul Hussein, and Oathb Salman Glebe, and expresses Abdul Majid Rudaini.

    The member of the Basra Provincial Council said that the doors of the nomination will be closed next Sunday, stressing during a press statement, the formation of a committee to ensure the soundness of the legal status of candidates, before the appointment of a session to elect a new governor from among the candidates.
