The Arab Thought Forum praises Iraq's experience in establishing the reconstruction fund for the affected areas

The Secretary-General of the Arab Thought Forum, Dr. Mohammed Abu Hammour, on Monday appreciated the cost of reconstruction of the three Arab countries that are witnessing the conflicts and wars (Iraq, Syria and Yemen) with a trillion dollars, while praising Iraq's experience in establishing the reconstruction fund for the affected areas.
"The estimate of the competent authorities on the cost of reconstruction in the Arab countries, which is witnessing conflicts and wars amounted to about one trillion dollars," Abu Hamour said, adding that "some international bodies cost the reconstruction of Syria alone about 900 billion dollars."
"The Jordanian private sector should build alliances with its Arab counterparts in order to contribute to the reconstruction, according to officials in donor countries," Abu Hammour said, referring to the economic and social impact of conflicts in the region.
He pointed out that "the reconstruction process requires huge investments that countries can not afford without the participation of the private sector and its contribution to the reconstruction of infrastructure projects, which requires the creation of a legislative and investment environment supporting this trend and strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors."
"The importance of finding the possible sources of funding for the reconstruction process, the participation of Arab banks and the Arab funds earmarked for reconstruction, such as the reconstruction fund for areas affected by terrorist operations, which was established in Iraq in 2015, and the credit fund for the reconstruction of Syria, year 2013".
