Moscow renews its support for Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday the firmness of the Russian position in support of Iraq's sovereignty, integrity and territorial integrity.
Russia believes it is important to avoid anything that could further complicate and destabilize the Middle East, and our support for Iraq's sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity remains constant, a ministry statement said.
The statement added that Moscow respects the national aspirations of the Kurds, and we proceed from the fact that all the disputed issues between the federal authorities and the leadership of the Kurdish autonomous region can and should be resolved through constructive dialogue and mutual respect leading to an acceptable equation of the two sides to coexist in the framework of a unified Iraqi state.
