    [ltr]The Youth Parliament of the Ministry of Youth and Sports held its first session in the presence of Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jubouri in the hall of the oil cultural center in Baghdad.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The meeting witnessed the vote on the selection of members of specialized committees and vote on the adoption of the rules of procedure and discuss the work plan for 2018," the Ministry of Youth said in a statement.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"Iraqi youth are a lifelong lover despite the scandals and events that have taken place in Iraq, but they have continued their work and creativity, which gives hope that Iraq, with its youth, can continue the challenge and determine successes and victories at any time and place," the statement said.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The solid will of our young people will extend to all walks of life and the experience of the Youth Parliament is an ideal step for promoting and involving young people in political, social and cultural life, building dialogue and fostering civic spirit to develop individual skills in discussions," he said.[/ltr]
    [ltr]He stressed that "young people are half of the population of Iraq, but many of them are still without work or them can not meet the requirements of his personal life or that many of them detached from the overall events in the country, and this can not be tolerated and must invest the energies of young people as an important element in Reality of life in Iraq and will have an active participation. "[/ltr]
    [ltr]"We will seek to reduce the age of young people in order to stand for election, and I hope that members of the youth parliament will seek to discuss hot issues, including the unity of Iraq and its land and the importance of their presence as an active member of society," Jubouri said.[/ltr]
    [ltr]For his part, the head of the youth parliament in the ministry, Yusuf al-Mohsen said that "the Youth Parliament is a window for young Iraqis to achieve their aspirations and take their ideas in accordance with the new political system and the creation of youth conscious and active in the community takes on the task of promoting youth reality and influence in making and taking decisions in positions of responsibility."[/ltr]
