[ltr][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]BAGHDAD - The commander of the armed forces Haider al-Abadi ordered the armed forces to impose security in Kirkuk in cooperation with the people of the city and the Peshmerga.
According to news provided by Al-Iraqiya semi-official channel, the security forces have directed the protection of all citizens of all sects in Kirkuk.
"The anti-terrorism agency and the 9th Iraqi Army Armored Division and the Federal Police have taken control of large areas with Kirkuk without confrontation," the news agency said.
It also pointed out that "the forces of the Popular Propaganda Authority under the command of joint operations support the armed forces outside Kirkuk." Finished
