Sources close to the Prime Minister Haider Abadi, on Sunday, Turkey refused to deal with Kurdistan through the border crossing points, indicating that the Turkish side intends to complete a new outlet through the Sinjar without passing through Kurdistan in the event of negotiations failed between Baghdad and Erbil.
"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed during his meeting with the Turkmen delegation that the possibility of dealing with Kurdistan on the management of ports or receipt of oil only through the supervision of the federal government in Baghdad and deal with the federal forces," the government sources said in a press statement.
"The Turkish government will encourage the opening of a new crossing from Sinjar Tal Afar in Mosul within the next six months to avoid trade permanently with Kurdistan in case it is not possible to reach a peaceful solution with the central government to hand over the ports," it said.
"The federal government has imposed control over all border crossings with Turkey by deploying units of the Iraqi army by a joint agreement to be announced soon, which provides for the deployment of a Kurdish force without heavy weapons or the authority to run as it was in the past," the sources said.
