[rtl]US President Donald Trump said "further major sanctions will be imposed on North Korea after Pyongyang said it tested a new intercontinental ballistic missile .[/rtl]
[rtl]"I have just spoken to Chinese President Xi Jinping about North Korea's provocative actions," said Trump in a tweet on Thursday.[/rtl]
[rtl]For its part, North Korea announced that its new missile launched from a newly developed vehicle, adding that the warhead can withstand the pressure resulting from the return to the Earth's atmosphere[/rtl]
[rtl]North Korean leader Kim Jong-un himself oversaw the missile test and said the new launch vehicle was "flawless," describing it as "great progress," state media said.[/rtl]
[rtl]Observers and analysts question North Korea's ability to master the technology needed to design a warhead capable of bearing the enormous pressure of returning to the Earth's atmosphere and say the isolated communist state still needs years to develop a reliable delivery device for a nuclear weapon.[/rtl]
