[ltr]In the United Nations General Assembly in September 2016, 193 States unanimously adopted a non-binding political declaration, the New York Declaration on Refugees and Migrants, which pledged to preserve the rights of refugees, assist them in resettlement and ensure their access to education and employment.[/ltr]

The US administration has announced the withdrawal of the United States from an international charter to improve the handling of refugee and refugee crises as "contrary" to its policies, the United States Mission to the United Nations said in a statement.
