    Tomorrow Press / Baghdad: Research and Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, on Wednesday, with the U.S. Ambassador in Iraq, Stephen Beecroft ongoing preparations for the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to Washington as well as the political situation and regional issues of common concern.

    The Foreign Ministry said in a statement received "tomorrow Presse", "the Foreign Minister met today, Robert Stephen Beecroft U.S. Ambassador in Iraq," adding that "the meeting, they discussed relations between Iraq and the U.S. through the Strategic Framework Agreement between the two countries and the ongoing preparations for the upcoming visit of the President of Minister to Washington. "

    The statement added that "the meeting also discussed the issues and the political situation and regional issues of common interest and the latest developments of the Syrian crisis, discussions and consultations on the convening of the Geneva Conference 2 and the efforts of UN envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, especially after his recent visit to Baghdad."

    He is scheduled to visit Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the end of the month, Washington at the head of a high-ranking delegation.

    It is noteworthy that Iraq signed with the United States, in 2008, the Framework Agreement strategy to support the ministries and agencies of the Iraqi transition from the strategic partnership with the Republic of Iraq to the areas of economic, diplomatic, cultural and security, based on the Strategic Framework Agreement and reducing the number of reconstruction teams in the provinces, as well as providing important sustainable rule of law, including the police development program and the completion of the coordination and supervision and the report of the Fund of Iraq relief and reconstruction.
