Zaki said in a press statement on Saturday: "It was decided to hold the work of the 149 session of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives on Sunday under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia and the presence of the Secretary-General of the League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit,"
adding that "the meeting of permanent delegates will discuss the draft agenda, 8 items representing main issues dealing with the various issues of joint Arab action, especially in the area of the Palestinian issue and the Arab-Israeli conflict and in the field of Arab affairs and Arab national security and in the fields of international political affairs, media, human rights and legal, financial and administrative affairs.
Zaki explained that "the permanent delegates will discuss various items and draft resolutions of their own and raise a number of them to the Arab foreign ministers for discussion on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubair."
