    Announced that the Independent Electoral Commission, on Sunday, for submitting a request to the government to adopt the e-card as a background document fifth in official transactions, and while confirming its work to overcome some of the problems that have occurred in previous elections, pointed out that "the religious authority have a vital role in the current election."

    The director of the constituency in the election commission Miqdad Sharifi journalists during a joint conference with the journalists' union held at the union's headquarters in central Baghdad, "The Commission called on the government to adopt e-card as a background document fifth in official transactions."

    He Sharifi that "we will organize a number of meetings with civil society organizations and we will hold workshops to explain the work of the e-card, and make it clear to people how to deal with it, and we study the mechanism of distribution, which will be either by visiting citizens to the Centers for voter registration update, or by mobile teams."

    Sharifi pointed out that "the Commission's database was last updated in 2013, and has been added newborns who are eligible to vote, as a number 

    21 million and 400 000 citizens. "

    The Commission confirmed that it is "working very carefully to overcome some of the problems that have occurred in the past, at the level of procedures of counting and the introduction of evidence."

    Sharifi and praised the role of "the religious authority," noting that "a vital role in pushing citizens to go to the polling centers to update their records election, and in the last Friday prayers, there were many calls from people regarding this matter."

    He explained Sharifi that "many of the leaders and interfaces social has updated its election," noting that "Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Parliament Speaker Osama Najafi and the cleric Moqtada al-Sadr and the head of the Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim happened statements and urged citizens to update their data and to participate in the elections."
