BAGHDAD / The Ministry of Industry and Minerals revealed on Tuesday a close meeting of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council to discuss the investment opportunities witnessed by the Saudi companies in Iraq.
"The Saudi companies have already seen the investment opportunities in Iraq and the companies of the Ministry of Industry, Minerals and Petrochemicals and held understandings between us in this regard and remains some steps to complete the agreement," the spokesman said.
"The Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council will hold its meeting in the near future under the chairmanship of the Minister of Planning and Chairman of the Coordination Council Salman Jumaili to discuss the investment opportunities witnessed by the Saudi companies in Iraq and reach a final agreement on them."
Saudi Arabia and Iraq signed an agreement at the end of October last year to establish the "Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council" within the framework of the recent rapprochement between Baghdad and Riyadh, attended by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and US Secretary of State Rex Tilerson. End 3
