    (Encyclopedia of this Day News | Iraq News ) - Direct said the agency "Moody 's " credit rating that the threat of US President "Donald Trump" to impose tariffs on car imports will negatively affect the automotive sector in the entire world.

    The US president on Friday threatened to impose tariffs on European cars in response to the EU's reprisal against Washington.

    Moody's said in a report on Monday that Trump's warning of a 25 percent tariff on imported cars and spare parts would have a negative impact on the credit rating not only for the United States, but for every sector of the global auto industry from Manufacturing companies to suppliers, traders and transport companies.

    Moody's pointed out that Ford Motor and General Motors would be immediately affected by tariffs because the two companies were supplying large quantities to the United States.

    The entire supply chain will be disrupted by tariffs, as the strategies of car companies to reduce cost and time of production mean the use of transboundary goods, leading to multiple tariffs.

    The impact is likely to be more damaging to automakers in other countries than their competitors in the United States, according to the report.

    Looking at Asia, Japan's automakers will have to make big changes in their domestic production if tariffs are introduced, as Toyota Motor, Nissan Motor and Honda Motor make up a large part of its global production in the United States.

    Car stocks fell sharply after the US president threatened to impose tariffs on European cars.

    Ford Motor and General Motors fell 1.3% and 1.5% respectively, while Daimler fell 2.3% and Volkswagen fell 3.3%.
