Economist: US Treasury is exerting pressure to keep the central bank governor in office
An economist revealed that the US Treasury Secretary is exerting pressure on the Iraqi government to keep the governor of the Central Bank Ali al-Alaq in office and for unknown reasons.
The expert said that the Iraqi government to review the law of Bremer of the Central Bank of Iraq and its amendment as it reduced the powers of the bank and imposed restrictions in the banking and economic transactions.
