Agriculture reveals its winter plan and confirms: The cultivated area exceeded 12 million acres

The Ministry of Agriculture announced on Saturday that its plan for the current winter season has exploited an area of more than 12 million acres of various crops and vegetables in all governorates.
"The total cultivated areas for this season amounted to 12 million and 47 thousand 395 dunums and different winter crops," said spokesman Hamid Nayef in a statement, adding that "the areas planted in the manner of irrigation, either by rivers or wells projects amounted to five million and 353 thousand 509 acres" .
He added that the areas planted with rain, semi-secured and unsecured areas amounted to 6 million and 693 thousand 886 dunums, noting that the total area cultivated with wheat crop amounted to 7 million 207 thousand 982 dunums, while the areas planted with barley crop amounted to 4 million, 305 thousand and 741 dunums and cultivated areas Vegetable crops 533 thousand and 672 dunums.
He added that "the ministry completed all its procedures for this season at the end of last December for the central and southern regions and at the end of January last for the western and northern regions, except for the Kurdistan region, where farmers were equipped with seeds and fertilizers and all agricultural inputs and according to the agricultural plan approved.
