A party expects US sanctions to affect Iraq because of the minister's comments

Iraq's Constitutional Future Party predicted on Wednesday that US sanctions would be imposed on Iraq because of comments made by Foreign Minister Mohammad Ali al-Hakim in which he announced his country's support for Iran.
"The statements made by al-Hakim during his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif put Iraq in the eye of the battle at the time. It was necessary to say that we stand with the international community with the United States of America against any attack on the international community," said party head Entafad Qanbar. And against terrorism issued by Iran. "

In a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif during his visit to Baghdad on Sunday, al-Hakim renewed Iraq's stance by rejecting what he called "unilateral measures" toward Iran, stressing that Baghdad stands with Tehran.
