The Turkish army and Turkish intelligence are conducting a joint operation that neutralized two members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which Turkey classifies as a terrorist in northern Iraq, the Anatolia news agency reported.
On May 27, Turkish forces launched Operation Claw in the Halkurk region of northern Iraq to "eliminate the threat of terrorism that threatens the country." Last August, as security forces and the Turkish army regularly targeted PKK positions and pursued its members inside the country, and northern Iraq.
