The Iraqi people continue to hold steadfast in their demonstrations against the political system in the country and against the militias of the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi.
Abdul Mahdi's militias, backed by Iran, continue to use excessive violence from repression, murder and kidnapping against demonstrators.
According to police sources, security forces killed four protesters in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] yesterday, and forcibly dispersed activists blocking the main port of Umm Qasr near Basra.

Security forces opened fire and fired tear gas at protesters at a bridge in central Baghdad.
Two people died after being shot and two were killed as a result of firing tear gas canisters directly at their heads. At least 61 people were injured.
In the south, security forces reopened the port of Umm Qasr after forcibly dispersing protesters who were closing it.
Sources at the port said workers had been able to enter the port for the first time since protesters closed it on Monday, but operations have not resumed as usual.
At least 340 people have been killed since protests began in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and southern [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in early October, the biggest wave of protests since the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003.
Protesters are demanding the overthrow of the political elite they see as responsible for corruption and serving foreign interests while many Iraqis live in poverty, without jobs, health care or education.
President Barham Saleh proposed reforms that include the election of deputies in individual districts rather than entire provinces, and that candidates run as individuals rather than on party lists, to meet the protesters' demands to curtail party power and greater local representation.
But a bill proposed by Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi this week deletes the amendments.
For its part, said the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq, that the bills being discussed in parliament need improvements to meet the demands of the public.
"I urge parliamentarians to act on the legitimate demands of their constituents in order to hold credible, free and fair elections," said Janine Hines Blaskhart, the UN special representative for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] .
Protesters in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] blocking traffic and still control parts of three main bridges leading to the capital's fortified Green Zone, which houses government buildings and foreign embassies.
They clashed with security forces who opened fire and threw tear gas canisters at a concrete barrier separating them on the Liberation Bridge. Tuk-tuk trucks carried dozens of injured youths to nearby tents where medics work.
The protesters threw stones and fired fireworks from behind the barrier, some wearing gloves and picking up tear gas canisters to throw them again.]
