Khamenei fears for his life ... and cancels the Persian New Year's speech because of Corona
The Iranian regime’s guide, Ali [size=13]Khamenei, canceled the speech that he was planning to deliver on February 20 in the city of Mashhad on the occasion of the Persian New Year due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus .
Khamenei's office said in a statement that the Supreme Leader's speech ceremony, which takes place annually in the shrine of Imam Reza on the first day of the new year, will not take place this year, and Ayatollah Khamenei will not go to Mashhad.
Iran has become one of the most prominent foci of the Corona epidemic in the world, as it reached 237 the number of people who died from this virus in the country until Monday.
The statement pointed out that the decision to cancel the speech was taken "due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus and the strict advice of health and medical officials and experts to avoid gatherings and movements in order to prevent the spread of the disease."
Mashhad is the capital of Razavi Khorasan Province and the second largest city in the country in terms of population. It is also one of the most prominent Shia holy cities in the country, and it is also the birthplace of Ayatollah Khamenei.
